WHAT THEY’RE SAYING: DSCC, DCCC, & DNC Launch “Ad Blitz” Highlighting Democrats’ Tax Cut For American Families –– That Republicans Unanimously Opposed

As the expanded Child Tax Credit’s monthly payments start hitting Americans’ bank accounts today, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and Democratic National Committee launched a joint digital advertising campaign highlighting Democrats’ tax cut for American families — and how Republicans unanimously voted against it.

Here’s what they’re saying:

DSCC CHAIR SEN. PETERS ON CNN: NOT ONE REPUBLICAN VOTED FOR IT:

Senator Peters: Well I think it’s important for folks 1. to know that they’re going to see money coming into their account today, which is very exciting for American families to know that this help is on the way, for those families that have children to deal with the additional expense of child care and other expenses that they face every single day. And I think it’s important for folks to know why they are getting that money in their account today. It was the result of Democrats who stepped up for American families with children. And I think it’s very important for them to realize that not one Republican voted for it. Republicans were against this program and as they receive these checks, as they receive the assistance so important for their family, they have to know who’s on their side. Democrats are on their side. We’ve proven it and clearly Republicans are not on their side.

Bloomberg: Democrats Tout Child Tax Credits in Ad Blitz Aimed at Key States

  • Democratic leaders want voters in key states to know which party is responsible for the checks Americans with young children are set to start receiving on Thursday.
  • A new digital ad campaign targeted to key Senate and House midterm races touts the expanded monthly tax credit of up to $300 a child hitting Americans’ bank accounts as a middle-class tax cut delivered by President Joe Biden and congressional Democrats. The tax credit was included in the pandemic relief package (Public Law 117-2) that Congress passed on a party-line vote in March.
  • The [ad] is jointly sponsored by the DNC and the party’s Senate and House campaign arms — the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. It’s set to run in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, New Hampshire, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, which make up the core of the competitive Senate map.
  • Democrats say they’ll use the child tax credit as an argument for why voters should defeat GOP incumbents and re-elect Democratic senators, including Mark Kelly (Ariz.), Raphael Warnock(Ga.), Catherine Cortez Masto (Nev.), and Maggie Hassan (N.H.). The issue will also be emphasized in open-seat Senate races in North Carolina and Pennsylvania.
  • “While Democrats are putting more money in the pockets of families with children, Republicans unanimously voted against this tax cut — and in 2022, voters will hold every GOP Senate candidate accountable,” DSCC Chairman Gary Peters (D-Mich.) said in the statement announcing the ad buy.

Fox Business: Biden, Democrats celebrate first payments for new Child Tax Credit, shame GOP for not supporting it

  • Democrats are campaigning off the infusion of payments with a new digital ad campaign in the battleground states of Arizona, Georgia, New Hampshire, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Florida and Wisconsin.
  • The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC), Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) and Democratic National Committee (DNC) unveiled the new ad Thursday that points out every Republican voted against the expanded child benefit.
  • “Democrats are delivering a major tax cut for middle-class families that will help more Americans get back on their feet after the pandemic,” DSCC Chairman Sen. Gary Peters, D-Mich, said in a statement. “The contrast for voters is clear: While Democrats are putting more money in the pockets of families with children, Republicans unanimously voted against this tax cut.”

Florida Politics: National Democratic groups launch ad buy in Florida markets to promote child tax credits

  • Several major national Democratic organizations are funding an ad buy in three Florida congressional districts to promote new child tax credit payments set to hit Americans’ bank accounts.
  • Those payments will begin rolling out Thursday as part of the American Rescue Plan, approved by Democrats in Congress earlier this year.

Atlanta Journal Constitution: ‘Help is here.’ Democrats tout start of child tax credit payments in Georgia

  • Democrats are launching a barrage of ads in Georgia and other battleground states to highlight the monthly payments for most American families with children that will land in bank accounts starting Thursday.
  • The ads, financed by a slate of national Democratic groups, promote the expanded child tax credit that will delivery monthly payments of up to $300 for each dependent child. It’s part of the $1.9 trillion stimulus measure that Democrats passed in March over unified Republican opposition.
  • “Thanks to Democrats, help is here,” proclaims the ad, which is designed to boost U.S. Sen. Raphael Warnock and U.S. Reps. Carolyn Bourdeaux and Lucy McBath in competitive re-election campaigns next year.
  • The payments are projected to cut the child poverty rate in half, putting the U.S. in league with other wealthy countries that pay a guaranteed income for children. Anti-poverty groups say the program will do more to close racial equity gaps than any single policy in decades.

WMUR: National Democratic groups launch digital ad in NH as child tax credit payments begin

  • Three national Democratic groups are joining to launch digital ads in New Hampshire and several other battleground states praising the expanded child care tax credit payments that are scheduled to begin arriving to eligible Americans today.
  • In the ad, Biden is shown signing the bill as the words, “Middle class families are getting a tax cut thanks for Democrats’ American Rescue Plan” are superimposed.
  • “Every Republican voted against the middle class family tax cut,” the ad says. “Thanks to Democrats, help is here.”

Pennsylvania Capital-Star: As child tax credit checks hit mailboxes, ‘I’m looking forward to having the safety net,’ Pa. mom says

  • National Democrats backed up that message with cash on Wednesday, as they announced the launch of a digital advertising campaign.

PoliticsPA: “DSCC, DCCC, and DNC Launch Ad in Pennsylvania Highlighting Democrats’ Tax Cut For Middle-Class Families: The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, and the Democratic National Committee have launched a joint digital advertising campaign in Pennsylvania, that includes PA-7, PA-8, and PA-17, highlighting the expanded Child Tax Credit’s monthly payments that “start hitting Americans’ bank account today.” The five figure ad buy begins running on July 15 “thought a native advertising platform,” according to a press release.”

WisPolitics.com: “The DNC, DSCC and DCCC in a new digital ad campaign are slamming congressional Republicans for voting against increased child tax credits in the American Rescue Plan. The groups spent five figures on the joint ad campaign, which will air across Wisconsin.  On-screen text in the ad reads ‘Every Republican voted against the middle class tax cut. Thanks to Democrats, help is here.’”
