The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee announced today that Lauren E. Brainerd will serve as the Field Director for the 2018 midterm elections.
Lauren is a well-seasoned field operative whose experience spans the country from Virginia to Florida to Iowa. Lauren recently worked as Campaign Director for the Virginia Democratic Party, overseeing a program that won all three statewide campaigns with the election of Governor Ralph Northam, Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax, Attorney General Mark Herring, as well as an historic number of Democratic delegates pickups.
In 2016, Lauren served as the Florida Democratic Party’s Coordinated Campaign Director, where she built the largest coordinated campaign in the country with more than 625 staff members. The operation registered 225,000 voters and mobilized more than 4.5 million voters – nearly 270,000 more than in 2012. Prior to that, Lauren worked as a Regional Organizing Director for Hillary for America and as a Field Director for the North Carolina Coordinated Campaign in 2014.
“As Senate Democrats look to capitalize on our strong grassroots support and mobilize voters against the Republican agenda that is making life more expensive for the middle class, there is no better individual to harness this energy than Lauren,” said DSCC Chair Senator Chris Van Hollen. “Lauren’s vast experience in organizing and grassroots campaigning will be invaluable to us as we work to elect Senate Democrats.”
