DSCC Launches 6-Second, Non-Skippable YouTube Ad Highlighting Rep. Cramer’s Health Care Plan That Spikes North Dakotans’ Costs and Slashes Coverage

As the House recess continues, today the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee is launching six-second, non-skippable YouTube bumper ads against Congressman Cramer — highlighting how his Healthcare Plan will spike costs and strip coverage for hardworking North Dakotans, including families suffering from the scourge of opioid addiction.

“Families across North Dakota are struggling with an epidemic of opioid and drug abuse, but Congressman Cramer’s plan would spike costs and slash coverage for addiction treatment services — all to give big insurance companies another handout,” said David Bergstein of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. “If he decides to launch a Senate campaign, Congressman Cramer will be running on a platform of making older Americans pay five times more for care and stripping away coverage for pre-existing conditions — a toxic combination that has united North Dakotans of every political persuasion against it. To Congressman Cramer and any other potential GOP Senate candidate our message is simple: you own this plan and voters will hold you accountable.”

“What Will The Republican Healthcare Plan Cost You?”

The DSCC is the first national campaign committee to utilize YouTube’s innovative bumper ad format during the 2018 cycle. The six-second non-skippable ads are optimal for delivering critical messages while keeping viewer attention, especially across mobile platforms. Starting immediately the ads will reach targeted voters in North Dakota as part of an ongoing six figure digital buy.

As Republicans revived their toxic healthcare plan in April, the DSCC also re-launched its 30 second healthcare spot, “The Price” through Google search and Facebook advertising in 12 key Senate battleground states. The DSCC first released the spot — described as “gut punch of an ad” by MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow — in March alongside a healthcare website and a memo detailing the campaign implications of the GOP’s proposal. The DSCC also expanded its healthcare website and released targeted Google search advertisements highlighting potential Republican Senate candidate’s’ who have already voiced support for their party’s toxic healthcare Plan.
