In response to Republicans’ latest tax proposal that would spike health care costs by repealing the individual mandate — as well as a new Congressional Budget Office report revealing that the GOP tax proposal would jeopardize Medicare — today Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Spokesman David Bergstein released the following statement:
“This tax bill is nothing more than a vehicle for the GOP’s ongoing efforts to sabotage health care by spiking costs and driving up premiums for working families. Washington Republicans are fixated on putting more money in the pockets of the wealthy and well-connected, while the middle class pays more for health care, higher taxes and faces a less a secure retirement. This is a toxic combination guaranteed to turn off voters of every political persuasion, and every GOP Senate candidate will be held accountable for it.”
