“Every single Senator has a responsibility to uphold their oath of office by reviewing all of the evidence and committing to an impartial process that gets to the truth, but Republicans start this trial with no commitment to hearing from key witnesses or including critical new evidence. A trial that excludes relevant documents and blocks testimony from witnesses with firsthand knowledge of the president’s abuse of power is a partisan cover-up, not a thorough hearing of the facts. It’s time for Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans to stop putting party politics first and carry out their Constitutional duty by committing to a fair trial.”
