Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesman David Bergstein issued the following statement:

“Senate Republicans didn’t end their shutdown today, so their reelection prospects took another hit. Lost paychecks, angry constituents and bad polling all add up to the worst possible way for vulnerable incumbents like Martha McSally, Cory Gardner, Susan Collins, Thom Tillis and Joni Ernst to begin their campaigns.”
