McSally, Arpaio, & Ward Still Supporting GOP Effort To Make Pre-Existing Coverage Unconstitutional

It’s been more than a week since Republicans announced their latest, stunning effort to make coverage for pre-existing conditions unconstitutional and new reports confirm this decision could impactemployer-provided coverage, as well – impacting thousands more Arizonans in addition to the more than 2.7 million Arizona individuals who have pre-existing conditions. Still, Congresswoman McSally, Sheriff Arpaio, and former state Senator Kelli Ward are supporting the GOP’s health care agenda that jeopardizes coverage for pre-existing conditions.

“After a week spent refusing to stand up for Arizonans who want insurance companies to cover pre-existing conditions, it’s clear Congresswoman McSally, Sheriff Arpaio, and former state Senator Kelli Ward are once again putting their own political self-interests ahead of their state,” said Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesman David Bergstein. “McSally, Arpaio, and Ward supported a plan in Congress that would jeopardize coverage for pre-existing conditions, spike premiums, and impose an age tax on older Americans – so it’s no surprise they’re refusing to speak out against this new attempt to sabotage Arizona residents’ health care.”
