QUICK CLIPS: Cory Gardner Struggles to Answer for Lack of Public Events, Refusal to Support Bipartisan Bill to Expand Background Checks
“Why not publicize more of your events? As you know, a lot of times, they kinda have to find you. We have to find you. A lot of elected officials have a public calendar… you don’t seem to be publicizing…”
“Where do you stand on H.R. 8 [the Bipartisan Background Checks Act]? Have you made up your mind? Why haven’t you?”
Vulnerable Republican Senator Cory Gardner faced brutal questions this week about his refusal to hold public events during the August recess and his failure to support commonsense gun safety measures that passed the House months ago with bipartisan support but are collecting dust on Mitch McConnell’s desk.
KDVR’s Joe St. George caught up with Gardner yesterday to ask why he won’t make his events public or listen to the Coloradans urging him to stand up to Mitch McConnell and the gun lobby. Gardner did what he always does: dodge the question and offer up word salad as a response.
