It’s been more than a week since Republicans announced their latest, stunning effort to deny coverage to people with pre-existing conditions and new reports confirm this decision could impactemployer-provided coverage, as well – impacting thousands more Minnesotans in addition to the more than 2.3 million Minnesota individuals who have pre-existing conditions. Still, State Senator Karin Housley supports the GOP’s health care agenda that jeopardizes coverage for pre-existing conditions.
“After a week spent refusing to stand up for Minnesotans who want insurance companies to cover pre-existing conditions, it’s clear State Senator Karin Housley is once again putting her own political self-interests ahead of her state,” said Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesman David Bergstein. “Housley supported a plan in Congress that would jeopardize coverage for pre-existing conditions, spike premiums, and throw millions off health care – so it’s no surprise she is refusing to speak out against this new attempt to sabotage Minnesota residents’ health care.”
