Temporary Senator “Mega-Donor” Kelly Loeffler Faces “Minefield” of Ethical Issues, Questions on Lobbying

Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesperson Stewart Boss released the following statement today ahead of political mega-donor Kelly Loeffler’s swearing-in to the U.S. Senate:

“Political mega-donor Kelly Loeffler managed to buy herself a temporary Senate seat with a pledge to spend millions and serve as a rubber stamp for her party leaders, but this corrupt appointment has backfired from the moment she emerged out of a sham selection process. Loeffler faces a ‘minefield’ of ethical issues, is under scrutiny for her company spending ‘millions of dollars to lobby’ Congress, and has failed to unite grassroots Republicans who are skeptical of her coronation. Georgia voters see this backroom deal for what it is: the worst of Washington politics.”
