DSCC Statement on Georgia Senate Race

Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer and Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Chair Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand released the following statement at the start of the general election in Georgia:

“The chaotic and bruising Republican primary exposed Mike Collins’ record: stripping Georgians of their health care to give tax breaks to billionaires, capitulating to Trump while Georgia families pay the price, and facing a bipartisan Congressional ethics investigation for misusing taxpayer dollars. In November, Georgians will reject Collins’ scandals and harmful agenda and send Senator Ossoff back to the Senate.

“Senator Ossoff is a bipartisan leader with a track record of serving Georgians, standing up for children, and lowering costs. While Republicans spent a year attacking each other, Senator Ossoff has been fighting back against the chaos and corruption of the Trump administration and its attacks on health care, affordability, and voting rights.
