DSCC Statement on Pennsylvania Republican Primary

Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesperson Maeve Coyle released the following statement: 

“Tonight Mastriano threatened that he and his supporters will continue looming over Republicans in Pennsylvania, which will make their Senate primary dynamics even messier – and guarantee whichever candidate emerges will be badly damaged and out of step with the voters who will decide the general election.”

What to know about the looming intraparty battle for Republicans in Pennsylvania: 

• Doug Mastriano on McCormick: “They can’t win the primary without us. Especially if myself or somebody else of our movement gets in that race. It’s going to be a waste of their money. The individual has money to throw around, it’s not going to be enough.”
  
  
• Trump on McCormick: “The liberal Wall Street Republican named David McCormick…I do know that he was with a company that managed money for communist China, and he is absolutely the candidate of special interests and globalists and the Washington establishment…David is totally controlled, this is the opponent, by Mitch McConnell, the old crow, the old broken down crow.”
  
  
• Doug Mastriano on the NRSC: “If I get in [Daines’] already proven it seems to be a rich boys club that they want to happen for the Senate race. If I don’t get in I mean so then the base is not going to be enthusiastic for whoever they back.”

• Doug Mastriano: “Obviously the establishment, you know, their brains are exploding in the beltway there… they cannot win any primary seats without the base that’s with us. And you know, obviously they can’t win the general election either without us here.”
