The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) announced today that DSCC Vice Chair Senator Tina Smith (D-MN) will chair the DSCC’s Women’s Senate Network for the 2024 cycle, leading the committee’s program dedicated to organizing support and raising resources to elect and re-elect women to the U.S. Senate.
“Electing more women means having leaders who understand our right to make our own health care decisions and the importance of building an economy that works for everyone,” said Senator Tina Smith. “I know from my own race how important the support from the Women’s Senate Network is, and I’m excited to be working with the DSCC to help reelect senators like Tammy Baldwin, Jacky Rosen and so many others.”
“The Women’s Senate Network has done critical work to elect and re-elect so many of our phenomenal colleagues, and I’m proud to work alongside Tina as we continue our focus on this work in 2024,” said DSCC Chair Senator Gary Peters. “Because of dedicated work over many cycles, we’ve significantly grown the number of Democratic women in the Senate and our nation is better because of it. We have an important task ahead of us to protect and expand our majority, and I know Tina and the Women’s Senate Network will be key partners in this fight.”
The Women’s Senate Network program raises millions of dollars each cycle, including grassroots supporters making small-dollar donations. In the 2022 cycle these resources helped re-elect Senators Catherine Cortez Masto and Maggie Hassan and supported women challengers across the map. The Women’s Senate Network has been a key DSCC program since it was established by Senator Debbie Stabenow in 2001. The most recent chair of the Women’s Senate Network, Jacky Rosen (2022), is running for re-election in 2024.
