The DSCC has announced that Mindy Myers will run the committee’s independent expenditure in 2016. The DSCC IE is one of the top spenders on behalf of Democratic Senate candidates airing ads to support the campaigns.
Myers is a veteran of some of the toughest Senate races in recent history, having managed Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s historic 2012 campaign– the largest grassroots campaign in Senate history and only race in 2012 where a Democrat defeated a Republican Senate incumbent. For the past three years, Myers has served as Warren’s Chief of Staff. She also managed Sen. Richard Blumenthal’s 2010 campaign, Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse’s 2006 campaign and served as New Hampshire State Director for the Obama campaign during the general election in 2008.
Myers also worked as a Special Assistant in the Legislative Affairs Office of President William J. Clinton, as Deputy Director for Constituency Outreach for Al Gore’s presidential campaign in 2000, as Senior Advisor and Political Director for former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, and as Chief of Staff for Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI).
