Senator Catherine Cortez Masto, Chair of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, issued the following statement on widespread voting access problems across Georgia today:
“Voters should be able to cast their ballots without any barriers and also trust they will be counted, but that has not been the case with today’s primary in Georgia. Secretary of State Raffensperger failed all Georgians by administering an election plagued by long lines, broken voting machines, ballot shortages, delays in sending absentee ballots and other alarming irregularities that interfered with the fundamental right to vote. These problems were predicted, they could have been prevented, and they require a full investigation.”
