DSCC FRIDAY TAKEAWAYS: DSCC LAUNCHES WEBSITE TARGETING GOP CANDIDATES ON ABORTION, SAM BROWN SLAMMED AT DEBATE & SHADY SHEEHY DRAWS COMPLAINT.

AHEAD OF ROE V. WADE ANNIVERSARY DSCC LAUNCHES GOPONABORTION.COM FEATURING GOP SENATE CANDIDATES IN THEIR OWN WORDS Ahead of the anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision, the DSCC launched GOPonAbortion.com, a website highlighting GOP Senate candidates’ own words and records opposing women’s right to make their own health care decisions. The site, which was first released in 2022, is being re-launched today to feature Republican Senate candidates running this campaign cycle, and also includes a new video, “In Their Own Words.”

“SHREDDED DOCUMENTS,” MORENO’S LABOR LAWSUIT COVERUP → A shocking new report from Business Insider reveals that Bernie Moreno “admitted in a deposition to shredding documents containing information that was potentially relevant” to lawsuits  “accusing him of wage theft,” ”despite being instructed to preserve records.”

ON THE OFFENSE IN TEXAS AND FLORIDA → The Associated Press detailed this week that Democrats are going on offense in Texas and Florida. More from the AP:

  • Democrats nationwide have championed abortion rights and are looking to build on gains among suburban women and other key swing voters since the Supreme Court’s overturning of the Roe v. Wade decision in 2022. The party thinks many Texas and Florida voters are with them in believing Republicans have gone too far in restricting reproductive freedom.

  • “I think they are winnable states with the right Democratic candidate and the right Republican candidate,” said Michigan Sen. Gary Peters, chair of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. “And I think we’re going to have both.”

LATEST LAKE CONSPIRACY THEORY The Arizona Republic reported scholars say Kari Lake’s immigration remark plays into racist ‘Great Replacement Theory.’

MORE IN MICHIGAN!?→ Justin Amash said he’s forming an exploratory committee as he considers joining the Republican primary in Michigan. Amash criticized the Republican primary candidates for being “uninspired, unserious, and unprepared.” Amash would join an already “crowded,” “caustic,” and “radioactive” Republican “Senate showdown” primary.

McCORMICK SAYS NO MORE ROADS, BRIDGES, AND JOBS FOR PENNSYLVANIA → Dave McCormick was caught saying he would repeal the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill, historic legislation that is improving roads and bridges, and creating jobs in Pennsylvania.

DEBATE NIGHT IN NEVADA TURNS INTO A “SCAM” BROWN SLUGFEST. → When Nevada Republicans gathered to debate in Reno, the “candidates spent most of their time…attacking the Republican Senate candidate who wasn’t in the room: Sam Brown.” The GOP candidates “called out Brown for his absence and described him as an establishment candidate not willing to face voters,” continuing to escalate Nevada’s already messy Republican primary.

WHAT’S SHADY SHEEHY HIDING → Tim Sheehy is facing a new complaint for failing to disclose investments on his personal financial disclosure. Sheehy has already faced scrutiny for “potential conflict of interest” between his government funded company and Senate campaign

DON’T DO WHAT I SAY → Heartland Signal: “Frank LaRose has been critical of out-of-state billionaires impacting elections, but he recently bragged about a “well-funded” super PAC funded by an out-of-state billionaire helping his Senate bid.” In the midst of the messy, expensive Ohio Republican primary, LaRose has been boosted by a $3 million donation from Illinois billionaire Richard Uihlein.

“NO WONDER NO ONE LIKES YOU” → Ted Cruz was slammed for tweeting “join me in Cancun!” after Texans were warned of yet another dangerous cold front.

🌨️BALDWIN SHOWS UP → Negative 23 degree weather isn’t stopping Sen. Tammy Baldwin from meeting voters where they are. “With Republicans still on the sideline in Senate race,” Tammy Baldwin was campaigning across Wisconsin, speaking with Waukesha-area moms about fighting to lower prices and talking about the importance of protecting abortion rights.
