NC TV STATION PULLS NRSC AD WITH FALSE SMEARS AGAINST BEASLEY. In a rare move, North Carolina television stations removed an attack ad from the NRSC because it contained “false” statements about Cheri Beasley’s record.

WE’VE HIT TURBULENCE – ROJO HIT WITH ETHICS COMPLAINTS OVER TAX-PAYER DOLLARS, IS “FACING A SLEW OF NEGATIVE HEADLINES.” It was another brutal week for Ron Johnson who was hit with anethics complaint for spending thousands of taxpayer dollars on vacation travel from his family’s Florida vacation home, and is “facing a slew of negative headlines” that are “complicating what was already expected to be a tough race for the two-term senator.”

  • Salisbury Post: Democrats call out Ted Budd on formula shortage vote.“Members of the North Carolina Democratic Party (NCDP) held a press conference outside the office of Rep. Ted Budd (R-NC) Wednesday morning, chastising him for his vote, along with 191 other Republicans, against a proposal to give $28 million in aid to the Food and Drug Administration to address an extreme shortage of baby formula.”
  • FOX 8 (WATCH): “Earlier this month Budd voted against a bipartisan bill to address the formula shortage it would have provided $28 million in aid to the Food and Drug Administration.”

“TURNING UP THEIR GROUND GAME” – NEVADA AND GEORGIA RE-ELECTION CAMPAIGNS OFF TO A STRONG START. Nevada and Georgia Democrats showed they are “turning up their ground game” this past weekend – Senator Cortez Masto hosted a canvass kickoff urging Nevadans to fight against the GOP’s attacks on women’s right to make their own health care decisions “by taking it to the polls and voting for the people on their side,” and Senator Warnock and Georgia Democrats “cut the ribbon on the first 2022 coordinated campaign office in Fulton County” days after launching the ‘Georgia Votes’ coordinated campaign.

JUST THIS WEEK, THANKS TO SENATE DEMOCRATS

With Senate Democrats in their home states during this week’s Senate work period, voters are reading and watching a wave of news coverage highlighting how Democrats like Sens. Cortez Masto, Hassan, Kelly, Warnock, and Bennet are fighting to address their constituents’ most pressing priorities: lowering costs and boosting American manufacturing, expanding health care access, and holding big corporations accountable for getting rich by raising prices.

Senator Mark Kelly: “I’ve been working on legislation called the CHIPS Act that is going to provide grant money to bring manufacturing capacity back to the United States.”

  • GA – WMGT NBC41: Senator Warnock, other state leaders meet with farmers to discuss mental health “Senator Warnock says mental health is as important as physical health. He says he’s working on getting more mental health resources to rural communities. ..  ‘We were able to get $10 million in additional support for a network to support our farmers and our ranchers,’ he said. ‘As I go back to D.C., I’ll be focusing on bringing more people the resources they need.’”

IN THE STATES

FL – Tampa Bay Times (Opinion): Marco Rubio’s anti-choice agenda is an assault on Floridians’ freedoms. “The last thing they need is a politician like Marco Rubio telling them what they can or can’t do with their own bodies. But for politicians like Rubio, respecting decades of Supreme Court precedent and listening to the clear majority of Floridians who oppose new restrictions on abortion is less important than advancing his own political agenda.”

GA – Covington News (Opinion): State’s possible next U.S. senator should think before he speaks. “Shouldn’t a candidate this close to being a U.S. senator, whether Republican or Democrat, be expected to think before he speaks? I’m talking, of course, about Herschel Walker, the GOP nominee for one of Georgia’s two U.S. Senate seats. However, there is no doubt Walker is a football legend in this state.”

NH – Union Leader (Opinion): Democrats are gearing up to win big in November. “The New Hampshire GOP’s agenda is out of touch, and voters are coming out in droves to reject it at every opportunity. We’re going to win big this year and we’re going to keep winning for the years to come.”

OH – Cincinnati Enquirer: Ohio Senate race poll: J.D. Vance, Tim Ryan in close race as economy drives votes to GOP.“Ryan is trying to win over moderates as Vance recovers from a bruising GOP primary.”

WI – Cap Times (Editorial): Ron Johnson is a liar who chooses the NRA over children. “Ron Johnson has no shame, nor any moral compass. He will say anything to get reelected, which is precisely why this sick and twisted liar must be denied a chance to do any more harm.”
