The DSCC released its first TV ad in North Carolina’s Senate race, “About the Money,” highlighting Senator Thom Tillis’ record of putting his corporate special interest campaign donors ahead of what’s right for North Carolinians.
Senator Tillis took more money from special interest groups tied to drug manufacturers than any other U.S. Senator last year, and has repeatedly voted to benefit their bottom line. Tillis opposed legislation that would lower prescription drug costs and voted to give millions in tax breaks to big pharmaceutical companies even while they continued to hike prices.
The ad is the first to run in North Carolina from the DSCC IE and is part of the committee’s previously announced offensive television and digital paid investments in key battleground states.
Transcript:
“For Thom Tillis, it’s about the money. Tillis raked in more campaign cash from Big Pharma than any other Senator. And Tillis took good care of them. He opposed a bipartisan bill to lower the price of prescription drugs and voted to give them millions in new tax breaks while they jacked up prices even higher. Thom Tillis — Washington corruption. We pay the price.”
