DSCC Releases New TV Ad in Iowa: “Flouting The Law”

The DSCC released its first TV ad in Iowa’s Senate race, “Flouting The Law,” detailing Senator Joni Ernst’s disturbing pattern of disregarding campaign finance and anti-corruption laws to help herself. Senator Ernst was forced to pay the largest FEC fine in Iowa history after she was caught taking thousands in illegal contributions. Then, an explosive Associated Press investigation found she “worked in close concert” with a dark money group set up by her own top political staff – “a degree of overlap that potentially violates the law.”

Flouting The Law

The ad began airing today as part of the DSCC’s previously announced offensive investments in key battleground states.

Transcript:

“It’s a pattern of behavior we just can’t ignore. Joni Ernst’s campaign broke the law, knowingly taking thousands in illegal contributions and forced to pay the largest FEC fine in Iowa history. And now, Joni Ernst is at it again, accused of breaking anti-corruption laws by illegally coordinating with a dark money group and putting her politics over Iowa’s interests. Joni Ernst: a pattern of Washington behavior we just can’t ignore.”
