DSCC Executive Director Tom Lopach released the following statement on Congressman Joe Heck’s announcement on Donald Trump:
“Just a few weeks ago, Congressman Joe Heck confirmed that he would trust Donald Trump with the nuclear codes and that he had absolutely no reason to question his support for Trump. The only thing that’s changed since then is that Congressman Heck’s electoral chances have dimmed. Congressman Heck has stood by while Trump called Mexicans rapists, mocked the disabled, and suggested veterans with PTSD are weak, and his announcement today will be viewed as the wholly political move that it is, just one month out from the election. Nevadans deserve better and Congressman Heck won’t be able to erase his role in building the Party of Trump.”
