DSCC Communications Director Sadie Weiner released the following statement on the New Hampshire Primary results:
“Tonight’s results reaffirm what we learned in Iowa: the Republican majority is endangered. Donald Trump has done nothing but cause anxiety and heartburn for Senate incumbents and candidates since his launch, and the increasing likelihood of his nomination is another complication for the vulnerable GOP majority. There’s no better case than New Hampshire’s own Kelly Ayotte, whose very public struggle with a Trump nomination undermines her candidacy daily. She and her Republican colleagues are already on the record against women’s health, against student loan reform, against equal pay and against growing the middle class – and now it’s looking more and more like they will be tied to a volatile nominee who will repulse moderate voters. We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again, it is not a good time to be a Republican senate candidate.”
