In response to the bipartisan No Surprises Act going into effect this week – Democratic-backed legislation that will lower health care costs by protecting Americans from surprise out-of-network medical bills – Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokeswoman Jazmin Vargas released the following statement:
“Senate Democrats are taking on big corporations in order to address one of Americans’ most pressing priorities: lowering unfair costs and ensuring access to affordable, quality health care. This bipartisan legislation – opposed by vulnerable Republican Senator Johnson – will help stop surprise medical bills from bankrupting Americans, and it’s the latest example of how Democrats are fighting to lower the costs of the most challenging expenses and put more money in the pockets of working families.”
