DSCC Statement on Lake Senate Announcement

Fox News: “Republicans worry Kari Lake…will lose Arizona Senate race.”

In response to Kari Lake’s anticipated entrance in to Arizona’s GOP Senate primary, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Chair Senator Gary Peters released the following statement: 

“Lake’s campaign announcement is Senate Republicans’ worst nightmare. She has dangerous views and harmful policies: an abortion ban without exceptions, ending Medicare and Social Security, and fringe conspiracies that are far out of step with normal Arizonans. Even Republicans didn’t want Lake to run because voters rejected her before, and they’ll do so again in 2024.”

What to know about Lake and Senate Republicans’ “deep concern” about her candidacy:

• Lake has dangerous views and harmful policies: she backed an abortion ban without exceptions, would end Medicare and Social Security, and is “one of the nation’s leading conspiracy theorists” – with fringe ideas like recording children in classrooms.
