DSCC Communications Director Sadie Weiner issued the following statement following Donald Trump’s big victories in tonight’s Republican Presidential primaries:
“It’s another good night for Donald Trump, which makes it another bad night for vulnerable Republican Senators and Senate candidates. Republicans are facing the increasingly likely scenario of running alongside the toxic frontrunner who they’ve allowed to take over their party. Regardless of whatever ‘plan’ GOP leaders come up with next to try to save their fragile majority, nothing can erase the fact that Republican Senators and Senate candidates have spent months pledging to support Trump if he’s the party nominee. Voters want a Senator who will stand up for their best interests, and these Republican Senators and Senate candidates won’t even stand up to Donald Trump.”
