On the heels of a massive new $1.4 million ad buy from the Koch brothers, DSCC Communications Director Justin Barasky released the following statement on the unprecedented level of spending aimed at propping up vulnerable Senator Rob Portman:
“Rob Portman is in the pocket of billionaire special interests like the Koch brothers and that’s why outside spending on his behalf has hit nearly $6 million dollars on TV despite the fact that it’s only summer of the off year. Unfortunately for Rob Portman, no amount of special interest spending will hide the fact that he refuses to even read trade agreements before he takes a position on them and has consistently been on the wrong side of Ohio’s working families during his nearly three decades as a puppet of Washington special interests.”
