The Messenger: DSCC Will Open ‘Command Centers’ In Five Battleground States

• The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee is opening “command center offices” in five states: Montana, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, according to details first shared with The Messenger.
  
  
• The command centers will serve as a hub for on-the-ground staff, organizers, and volunteers that will help lay the groundwork to support Democratic incumbents in their reelection bids.
  
  
• “The DSCC is making early investments in the crucial, on-the-ground infrastructure that will power Senate Democrats’ victories,” said Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Chair Sen. Gary Peters. “While Republicans put forward flawed candidates and fight amongst themselves in nasty primaries, Democrats are laying the groundwork to win the general election in 2024 and protect our Senate majority that is fighting for working families.” 
  
  
• A DSCC aide confirmed with The Messenger that additional offices and funding will be announced as the cycle continues.
  
  
• Last week, the committee announced an expansion of its Republican Accountability Program, including funding for communications and research staff in Florida and Texas, two states that Republicans are defending next year. Currently, the committee is funding ground staffers in Arizona, Montana, Michigan, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
  
  
• Last year, the DSCC spent around $60 million on their ground game, which was more money than they spent on independent expenditures, which cover TV and digital ads. The investment was key to Democrats expanding their majority last year when polls showed most of the key races in dead heats heading into Election Day 2022.
