“Low & Disgraceful,” “A Scowling, Frowning Fat Cat:” Senate Republican Candidates Clash With The NRSC and Each Other

In recent weeks, Senate Republicans’ intra-party fights escalated as GOP candidates launched a new round of vicious attacks on each other and the NRSC. 

See for yourself: 

• In Michigan, the NRSC attacked Peter Meijer within hours of his campaign launch, and Sandy Pensler defied the NRSC by entering the already “crowded” GOP primary.

• In Montana, the NRSC issued a “fiery” attack on Matt Rosendale. Rosendale and his allies responded by calling for NRSC Chair Daines to be fired for his “low and disgraceful” conduct and labeling Tim Sheehy an “out-of-touch” “tool of the ‘party bosses’” and “a scowling, frowning fat cat.”

• In Wisconsin, Scott Mayer attacked NRSC Chair Daines, saying the NRSC is “really immaterial to me,” while David Clarke called the NRSC “abysmal.”
