Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesman Stewart Boss released the following statement today in response to Mitch McConnell’s statement on the Mueller report:
“The Senate’s role is to provide independent oversight of the president – regardless of political party – but there are no checks and balances under Mitch McConnell and this spineless Republican majority. Senator McConnell wasted no time turning his opposition to holding the president accountable into a self-serving fundraising stunt. Senate Republicans have put blind partisanship ahead of their responsibility to uphold the rule of law at a time when Americans not only expect more of the Senate but also want the full facts of the investigation.”
