NEW ADS: DSCC Highlights GOP’s Trump and Supreme Court Problems

Digital ads latest in DSCC’s sustained “Party of Trump” campaign

DSCC released “Support” video last week

The DSCC has launched new digital ads highlighting the Republican Senate’s plan to let Donald Trump to nominate the next Supreme Court Justice. These GOP Senators and Senate candidates have spent months pledging to support the eventual GOP nominee, even if it’s Trump, and now they are standing with Republican obstructionism on filling the Supreme Court vacancy.

In a recent column even conservative writer George Will took the GOP to task on their dangerous position. The headline blared, “Do Republicans really think Donald Trump will make a good Supreme Court choice?” Will eviscerates the GOP strategy as a “partisan reflex in search of a justifying principle” that is dangerous because “there is every reason to think that Trump understands none of the issues pertinent to the Supreme Court’s role in the American regime, and there is no reason to doubt that he would bring to the selection of justices what he brings to all matters — arrogance leavened by frivolousness.”

Trump’s presidential campaign has been defined by toxic rhetoric and offensive comments about Muslims, immigrants, minorities and women, but these Republican Senators and Senate candidates are ready to let Trump make a lifetime appointment to the highest court in America.

The ads, which will appear on Twitter and Facebook, are the latest in the DSCC’s sustained “Party of Trump” campaign. Learn more about Trump’s ties to Republican Senators and candidates at  www.PartyofTrump.com.

“Republicans Senators and candidates have already let Trump take over their party, and now they’re ready to let him take over the Supreme Court, too,” said Lauren Passalacqua, DSCC National Press Secretary. “Republicans are refusing to carry out their basic constitutional responsibilities and voters back home are putting them on the spot, calling them out for their unprecedented shutdown and demanding that they do their jobs. As they continue to double down on their obstruction, the DSCC will continue highlighting their efforts to let Donald Trump pick the next Supreme Court justice.”
