The DSCC released a new video highlighting Senator Susan Collins’ praise of President Trump’s coronavirus response, telling the Bangor Daily News that, “the president did a lot that was right in the beginning.” However, the facts tell a different story of ignored warnings, wasted months and broken promises.

Earlier this week, new polling found Mainers disapprove of the administration’s inadequate response to the pandemic with less than a third of Mainers trusting the president’s ability to manage the crisis. That same poll found that once again, Senator Collins standing among voters had fallen: her approval rating fell to just 37%, down from 42% last fall, while the share of voters who disapprove of her performance has spiked to 52%.
While Senator Collins has applauded the president’s actions, she still won’t disclose whether or not she voted for him in the March primary. The president endorsed Senator Collins in December, retweeting a messaging that “We need her to ensure a GOP majority in 2020” with “I agree 100%!”
