Report: Trump Has Disparaged Americans Who Died in War as “Losers” and “Suckers,” Continued to Denigrate Prisoners of War, Wanted Wounded Veterans Excluded From Military Parades, and Refused to Visit a Military Cemetery

A devastating report from The Atlantic and confirmed by the Associated Press details how President Trump has disparaged Americans who died in military service as “losers” and “suckers,” continued to attack prisoners of war, including the late Senator John McCain, wanted wounded veterans – particularly amputees – to be kept out of military parades, and refused to visit a military cemetery because he did not believe it was important to honor fallen soldiers. 

Not a single Republican in the Senate has spoken out against Trump’s disrespect towards American troops.

“The president’s comments are vile, and more proof of his contempt for those who have served and continue to sacrifice for our country,” said DSCC Communications Director Lauren Passalacqua. “Senate Republicans have refused to hold this president accountable, have not spoken out against these disgusting and disqualifying remarks, and we don’t expect them to now.”
