Republicans Brace For “Battle Royale” as GOP Infighting Escalates in West Virginia Senate Primary: “It’s Only Going To Get Uglier From Here”

On the heels of previous reporting that Republicans are bracing for a “battle royale” and a “costly and bruising intraparty fight,” the West Virginia Senate primary continues to get messier by the day. 

• Jim Justice has not officially entered the race, but Mooney’s campaign released internal polling that outlines a plan “to attack Justice” and he continues to go hard at Justice on social media.

• Meanwhile, there’s talk that Justice is “still trying to get some of his affairs in order“ because the financial disclosure rules to run for U.S. Senate are a lot more strict than running for Governor. 

• Outside spending is heating up with the Club for Growth PAC, who endorsed Alex Mooney, pledging to spend $10 million in support of Mooney’s campaign.
