WATCH: DSCC Chair Sen. Gary Peters Tells MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell Why Democrats Will Win GA Runoff

Sen. Peters: “This campaign is about a choice, and it’s a very clear choice between two individuals.”

DSCC Chair Senator Gary Peters joined MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell to discuss Democrats’ strong position to win Georgia’s U.S. Senate runoff election – saying that “this campaign is about a choice, and it’s a very clear choice between two individuals.”

Watch for yourself:

DSCC Chair Sen. Gary Peters:

  • From the DSCC’s perspective, we put substantial, substantial resources into the ground campaign. And ultimately, it’s that voter contact and ground campaign that’s going to make a difference in both of these states [Arizona and Nevada], and will clearly make a difference in the runoff election in Georgia.

  • We’re gonna continue to execute what we did in the past up to Election Day. Clearly, I think the folks in Georgia are seeing a very clear contrast between Raphael Warnock and Herschel Walker.

  • Of course, now it’s about the ground game. We’ve had a very robust ground game to get us to this point. Ultimately, that’s how you win a runoff…we’ve just announced a $7 million investment in the ground campaign so we have that voter to voter contact.

  • This campaign is about a choice, and it’s a very clear choice between two individuals. So I mentioned you have Senator Warnock, who is a man of character, a man of integrity, a person who has already delivered for the people of Georgia. And I think the information about his opponent is very clear, folks in Georgia know the difference between these two individuals.
  • Herschel Walker received fewer votes than the other statewide candidates because some folks just couldn’t bring themselves to vote for him because that’s not the person they want representing them. They don’t want that person representing the state of Georgia in Washington, because it doesn’t reflect who the people of Georgia are. So this is a campaign about choice. It’s very clear, we think the difference is very stark.
