WATCH: DSCC Chair Sen. Peters Tells MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell, “We Are Very Optimistic We’re Going To Be Able To Hold Our Majority”

DSCC Chair Senator Gary Peters joined MSNBC Reports with Andrea Mitchell to highlight the  “clear contrast between quality, strong Democratic candidates and, quite frankly, incredibly damaged and inferior candidates on the Republican side” – which is setting the stage for Democrats to protect and expand our Senate majority.

Watch for yourself:

  • We are very optimistic we’re going to be able to hold our majority. I still believe that we can pick up seats as well.
  • When it comes to early voting, we’re seeing record early voting or meeting the records that they have in the past in all of our key states. People are showing up at the polls. And we’re confident that those are Democrats.
  • Clearly this is a time where Democrats have to know that so much is at stake, that it’s important to get out the vote. It’s exactly where we thought we would be, and we’re confident – and I’m confident – that we’re going to still be in the majority come after the election.
  • Ultimately what we have as Democrats is people power. We have folks on the ground, we have people turning out voters. And I believe the messages that our candidates have been able to get out are very clear: this election is a choice. This is a clear contrast between quality, strong Democratic candidates and, quite frankly, incredibly damaged and inferior candidates on the Republican side. And ultimately, we will be successful as a result of that.
