Weekly West Virginia “Battle Royale” Senate Primary Update

Continued attacks on Justice’s failure to file his personal financial disclosures or release his work schedule, name-calling, and another endorsement for Mooney: here’s what you might have missed this week in West Virginia’s “messy,” “costly,” and “bruising” GOP primary.

• Alex Mooney leapt on new reports detailing Jim Justice again delayed filing his US Senate financial disclosure. Mooney called Justice an “Irresponsible RINO” who “will do anything to hide his scandals from the public” and “drag along all of his financial problems with him” to the Senate. 

• Mooney called Justice “an absent governor” and asked, “If he can’t do the job he signed up for in West Virginia, how’s he going to do the job in Washington?” Mooney cited a recent op-ed insisting that Justice has “give[n] up on his day job of governor” instead focused on “his interests, his businesses, that do not concern the people of West Virginia.” 

• Mooney touted the endorsement of The Republican Liberty Caucus and re-upped his assertion that he is “the only pro-Trump, America First conservative in the race for West Virginia’s Senate seat.”
