Weekly West Virginia “Battle Royale” Senate Primary Update

Name calling and sparring over legislative records: here’s what you might have missed this week in West Virginia’s “messy,” “costly,” and “bruising” GOP primary.

• Mooney continued to attack Justice as the “King of Scandals” over his “scandal-ridden leadership,” insisting that “our state can’t afford any more of” because “he will NOT represent our conservative values.”  

• Mooney attacked Justice for proposing the largest tax increase in West Virginia history, saying that “West Virginia cannot afford to send Jim Justice to the Senate for the next six years!” Mooney cited an Americans for Tax Reform commentary which states that “to suggest that Justice lied his way into office would be quite the understatement.”
