After 22 Years in Washington, Collins Facing “Bipartisan Anger” for Putting Special Interests Ahead of Mainers

DSCC spokesperson Stewart Boss issued the following statement today on Senator Susan Collins’ announcement that she will run for re-election in 2020:

“After 22 years years in Washington, Senator Collins is facing ‘bipartisan anger’ for putting the special interests ahead of what’s right for Maine. From a tax giveaway to billionaires and giant corporations that is threatening health care protections for Mainers with pre-existing conditions to confirming partisan judges to lifetime appointments on the federal bench and Supreme Court, Senator Collins has become a reliable vote for Mitch McConnell and her Washington special interest donors. Mainers are ready to hold her accountable and elect an independent Senator who will put them first.”
