After Denying Witnesses and Backing Partisan Cover-Up, Voters Will Hold Senate Republicans Accountable

DSCC spokesperson Lauren Passalacqua released the following statement:

“Senators of both parties have said President Trump is guilty of misconduct but the Republican incumbents on the ballot this year did not have the courage or honesty to uphold the rule of law. They blocked subpoenas to hear from witnesses and are complicit in orchestrating Mitch McConnell’s cover-up at the expense of a fair trial. By abandoning the oath of office, the Senators who voted today to acquit President Trump revealed once again they will always protect themselves and their political party rather than the Constitution and the country they were elected to serve.”
