Call A Taxi: Rubio’s Re-Election Statement Will Give You the Spins

SHOT: “I have decided to seek reelection to the United States Senate.”

CHASER: I have only said like 10000 times I will be a private citizen in January.

SHOT: “Because I have never claimed to be perfect, or to have all the answers.”

CHASER: “Marco Rubio’s string of foreign policy embarrassments.”

SHOT: “But the Senate is also a place from which you can perform great services for the people you have the honor of representing.”

CHASER: “We’re not going to fix America with senators and congressmen.”

SHOT: “I am proud of the work we have done to help thousands of Floridians over the last six years.”

CHASER: Rubio missed 41 percent of Senate votes while running for President, 68 percent of his committee hearings between 2011 and November 2015, and has amassed the worst attendance record of any Florida Senator in the past 50 years.

LIME: Rubio endorsers couldn’t name even one accomplishment from Rubio’s time in the Senate. Perhaps that’s why Jeb Bush slammed him for only passing one bill in five years.

SHOT: “That means the future of the Supreme Court will be determined by the Florida Senate seat.”

CHASER: Marco Rubio is holding the open Supreme Court seat for Donald Trump to fill. The same Donald Trump he called a “con man.”

SHOT: “It means the direction of our country’s fiscal and economic policies will be determined by this Senate seat.”

CHASER: “Marco Rubio’s tax plan gives a huge gift to the top 0.0003 percent”

SHOT: “It is no secret that I have significant disagreements with Donald Trump.”

CHASER: “Marco Rubio…Told Reporters He’ll Not Only Vote For Trump, He’d Be Willing To Speak On His Behalf At The Republican National Convention In Cleveland This Summer.”

SHOT: “But after much thought and prayer, together we chose to continue with public service; to continue down the path that provides the opportunity to make a positive difference at this critical and uncertain time for our nation.”

CHASER: “The senator has told colleagues and advisers that he would like to run for president again, either in 2020 or 2024. But he increasingly came to believe that doing so from the private sector would be difficult.”
