DSCC Releases New Ad Highlighting Kari Lake’s Support for Dangerous 1864 Ban

Ahead of this week’s anniversary of the leaked Republican Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade, today the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) is launching a new digital ad highlighting Kari Lake’s support for Arizona’s dangerous 1864 ban: “A Great Law.”

The spot features Lake in her own words praising the 1864 abortion ban as a “great law,” doubling down on her support for it after the Arizona Supreme Court upheld the law, and calling for sheriffs to enforce the 1864 abortion ban. The spot will reach suburban women in Arizona.

In addition to supporting Arizona’s 1864 abortion ban without exceptions for rape or incest, Lake has said abortion “is not health care. It is the killing, it is the sacrifice,” has argued “abortion pills should be illegal,” and celebrated overturning Roe v. Wade.

You can watch “A Great Law” here:

From DSCC spokesperson Maeve Coyle: “Kari Lake will do anything to gain power – including rip away women’s freedom to make their most personal medical decisions for themselves. Her consistent and loud support for Arizona’s 1864 abortion ban without exceptions for rape or incest has given voters the reason they need to make sure she is nowhere near the U.S. Senate. To restore their rights and freedoms, Arizonans must reject this abortion ban and reject Kari Lake at the ballot box.”
