CRINGEWORTHY: Rubio’s First TV Interview of Campaign Brutal Preview of Next 5 Months

Just hours after going back on his word on running for re-election and using Floridians as his back-up plan, Marco Rubio did his first live TV interview of the campaign with CNN’s Manu Raju, and it was 10 cringeworthy minutes of brutal questions and low energy, DC doublespeak answers from No-Show Rubio. Here are just some of the questions Rubio-Bot took today and should expect to have to answer for the next five months:

 

• On the campaign trail when you were running for president you ended up missing a lot of senate votes. In fact, in the September debate, you said, “This is why I’m missing a lot of votes: because I’m leaving the Senate. I’m not running for reelection.” So why do you deserve to be reelected?

 

• But why do you deserve to be reelected after missing so much of the Senate’s business?

 

• Do you commit to serving six years, six full years if you are elected? Don’t the voters of Florida need to know?

 

• You mentioned your legislative accomplishments and one of the things that you’re criticized is immigration. Where does that rank in your career here, your first term in the senate? You tried to cut a deal and then you abandoned it.

 

• In your statement today you said that Trump’s presidency is still worrisome, your words, but will you still vote for him in November?

o   You suggested before you would even speak at the convention on his behalf.

o   Would you do that? Are you going to go to the convention?

o   Do you feel any better about Trump’s candidacy after he fired his campaign manager and gave a speech criticizing Hillary Clinton?

o   Are you concerned, in 2010 you had a three-person race and look at the last time was a vote in Florida in march you lost pretty overwhelmingly to Donald Trump. Are voters falling out of favor with you?

o   Donald Trump is going to spend a lot of time in Florida. Will you campaign with him?
