Today, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) Chair Sen. Gary Peters, Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chair Jaime Harrison, Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) Chair Rep. Suzan DelBene, and Arizona Democratic Party (ADP) Chair Yolanda Bejarano released the following statement after the Arizona Supreme Court rejected the GOP’s attempt to eliminate Arizona’s no-excuse mail-in voting system, which would dramatically alter how voters cast their ballots in the state:
“Democrats have successfully fought back against Republicans’ baseless efforts to attack the right of Arizonans to vote by mail and fundamentally change how elections are administered in the state. We will continue to use every tool at our disposal to protect the ability of Arizonans to exercise their right to participate in our democracy and to oppose Republicans’ voter suppression tactics.”
The Arizona Supreme Court denied the Arizona Republican Party’s petition for review on Friday, June 2, 2023. This is the fourth time a court has rejected the Republicans’ attempts to attack early voting in Arizona, and marks a final rejection of their efforts—which have been going on for over a year now.
