DSCC Launches TV Ad Against Ron Johnson: “Himself”

Spot highlights how Johnson is looking out for himself and his rich political donors at Wisconsinites’ expense

In response to Ron Johnson’s campaign announcement — breaking his term limit pledge —  today the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee is expanding its initial digital advertising against Johnson to television.

In addition to reaching voters searching online for information about Johnson and his campaign launch, starting this week the ad “Himself” will now reach voters watching cable in the Green Bay, La Crosse, Madison, Milwaukee and Wausau media markets as part of a five figure advertising campaign.

The spot highlights how Johnson is a self-serving politician who pushed for laws that enriched him and helped his wealthy political donors, hurting Wisconsinites in the process.

HIMSELF

From Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Spokeswoman Amanda Sherman Baity: “Johnson is doing nothing in the Senate except looking out for himself, helping his rich political donors and hurting Wisconsinites in the process. When he’s not manipulating the tax code that enriched himself and his political allies, he’s voting to spike the cost of health care for working families, rewarding companies that outsource jobs to China and opposing the bipartisan infrastructure plan that will rebuild the state. At every opportunity, Johnson is looking out for one person: himself — and that’s exactly why Wisconsin voters will fire him in 2022.”

TRANSCRIPT:

Has Ron Johnson been looking out for himself, or you?

In the Senate Johnson pushed a law that ‘benefited him financially,’ created a special tax break that helped his top donors, and Johnson’s net worth doubled.

But while Johnson’s been helping himself, he’s been hurting Wisconsin families. Rewarding companies that outsource to China. Voting to raise health care costs and against veterans’ benefits.

Ron Johnson should be looking out for us, not himself.
