DSCC Releases New Digital Ad on Bernie Moreno: “Matter of Trust”

New Digital Ad Shows Moreno in his own Words as he Emerges Damaged from “Nasty,” “Increasingly Vicious” “Bloodbath” Ohio Republican Primary

In response to Ohio’s GOP Senate primary, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) is launching a new digital advertisement, “Matter of Trust.” 

The spot highlights how Ohio Republicans said Moreno is only out for himself, as well as Moreno’s own statements showing how his self-serving agenda is wrong for Ohio: supporting a national abortion ban that would overturn the will of Ohioans, opposing the bipartisan border security bill that would crack down on the flow of fentanyl, and opposing the concept of a minimum wage. The ad will reach independent, suburban Ohio voters through Meta platforms.

From DSCC spokesperson Maeve Coyle: “Ohio Republicans said it best: Moreno is only ever looking out for himself. Moreno has shown Ohioans why he has no place representing them in the Senate: he refused to pay his employees and destroyed evidence to cover it up, backed a national abortion ban that would overturn the will of his state, and opposed the border security proposal to crack down on fentanyl. Ohioans have seen that Moreno can’t be trusted to look out for anyone but himself – and that’s why they’ll reject him in November.”  

What to know about Bernie Moreno:

• Moreno is out for himself – not Ohioans: 
  
  
  • Moreno refused to pay his employees the overtime they’d earned, and he shredded evidence to get out of paying them. Moreno was found liable for wage theft by a jury, and after he got caught, Moreno repeatedly lied about the case. Multiple fact checks found his excuses false.
    
    
  • Moreno used his large campaign contributions and inside political connections to enrich himself and ultimately make “at least $5 million” by steering government contracts and taxpayer dollars towards his own businesses.
    

• Moreno supports a national abortion ban that would overturn the will of Ohioans, who voted overwhelmingly to protect reproductive rights:
  
  
  • Moreno has said he is “100 percent pro-life with no exceptions” and that he is “absolute pro-life, no exceptions.”
