DSCC Releases New TV Ad in Iowa: “Promised”

The DSCC released a new TV ad in Iowa’s Senate race, “Promised,” highlighting how much Senator Joni Ernst has changed since she got to Washington.

Senator Ernst pledged she would make Washington “squeal” when she got to the Senate, but once in Washington, she broke that promise and became part of the problem. Ernst told Iowans that she didn’t “intend to buy a big, fancy house” in D.C., but as soon as she got the chance, Ernst bought a luxury D.C. condo. And instead of making Washington squeal, Ernst got caught taking thousands in illegal campaign contributions from corporate special interests and was forced to pay the largest FEC fine in Iowa history. After six years in Washington, it’s clear that Senator Ernst has changed.

The ad is the fifth to run in Iowa from the DSCC IE and is part of the committee’s previously announced offensive investments in key battleground states.

Promised

Transcript:

“Joni Ernst promised us she wouldn’t change. I don’t intend to go to Washington, D.C. and buy a big, fancy house. But the moment she had the chance, Ernst bought a luxury DC condo. Then Ernst got caught taking thousands in illegal campaign contributions from corporate special interests. Just like a typical Washington politician. And her campaign was forced to pay a record-breaking FEC fine. Joni Ernst has changed alright.  And it isn’t for the better.”
