DSCC National Press Secretary Lauren Passalacqua made the following statement today regarding Congressman Joe Heck’s ninth vote to defund Planned Parenthood:
“Congressman Heck just cast his ninth vote to defund Planned Parenthood, choosing once again to put the Washington Republican agenda ahead of Nevada women and families. More than 21,000 patients across his state rely on the routine health services Planned Parenthood provides, but that wasn’t enough to convince the Congressman to stand up to the special interests that bankroll his campaign. Congressman Heck’s vote today would also prevent 174,000 eligible Nevadans from benefiting from Medicaid expansion. Congressman Heck and his DC allies used the first votes of the new year to target critical family health services. Nevadans deserve better.”
