In response to the one-year anniversary of the January 6th insurrection, DSCC Chairman Gary Peters issued the following statement:
“January 6th serves as a reminder of how fragile our democracy is – and why we must protect it against the lies and dangerous conspiracies that led to the horrific attack on our Capitol. In the year since the physical violence unfolded, Trump’s Big Lie has only continued to infect the Republican Party and Republican Senate campaigns. In 2022, Americans will make clear that the GOP candidates who condone this violence and endorse, excuse, or fail to stand up to these attacks on our democracy have no place in the U.S. Senate.”
