In response to Oklahoma lawmakers passing legislation prohibiting almost all abortions –“the strictest prohibition in the country” – Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesperson Nora Keefe issued the following statement:
“Republicans are engaged in a full-fledged offensive to criminalize abortion, impose new, cruel, and punishing restrictions on women, and take away women’s rights to make our own decisions about our health care. If Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans win in November, they will make it their priority to pass a national abortion ban – stripping abortion and health care access from women no matter where we live. For voters, the stakes of protecting and expanding our Democratic Senate Majority in November have never been higher.”
