In response to Senators Cruz and Scott voting against Jack Lew’s confirmation as U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesperson David Bergstein issued the following statement:
“While violence and terrorism continue to pose grave security threats in the Middle East, Cruz and Scott opposed ensuring America has an ambassador to Israel, once again putting their petty politics above all else. In 2024, voters will know that when America needs leaders to protect our security, they cannot rely on Ted Cruz and Rick Scott.”
