In response to the release of the Congressional GOP’s tax bill, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Communications Director Lauren Passalacqua issued the following statement:
“This tax plan is a giveaway to the multinational corporations and billionaire donors that fuel Mitch McConnell’s Republican Party. Middle class families will be taxed more – both now, on student loan debt, mortgage interest, and medical expenses, and later, in the billions this plan will add to the federal debt. Deductions for state and local taxes will be eliminated, effectively double taxing income. Middle class families shouldn’t be asked to finance further rigging the system for the wealthy and slashing rates for the Fortune 500.”
